The G-compact compression spiral blade is used for typical femoral neck fractures (Garden I-II-III). The compression spiral blade fixes itself in the femoral head by compacting the spongy bone, while its specially designed shaft tightens in the lateral cortex. After the insertion the spiral blade can be removed from the insertion instrument with a closing maneuver, during which compression of the fracture also occurs.
