Junior tibia nail system

Body part: Tibia
Fracture location: Diaphyseal

General information:

The junior tibia intramedullary nail was primarily developed for the treatment of diaphyseal fractures in adolescents whose growth plates are still active, but their body size and weight often resembles adults. Under these circumstances, the required stability for osteosynthesis exceeds the load-bearing capacity provided by the commonly used titanium elastic pins/nails. Similarly, an active and sporty lifestyle also demands the use of an implant which has the same capacity as an implant for adults.

In order to preserve the integrity of the epiphyseal plate, both the design of the nail and the insertion method differ from conventional tibial intramedullary nailing. Different versions of the nail are available for the left and the right side. The locking is done using 4.9 mm locking screws from the medial direction.

Both stainless steel and titanium alloy material options are available.
