This femoral nail can be inserted proximally to treat diaphyseal and trochanteric fractures. The proximal end is curved, thus the insertion point is shifted towards the tip of the greater trochanter.
It is possible to insert two 6.5 mm locking screws on the proximal end towards the femoral head with 130° CCD angle. These screws prevent the rotation of femoral head during fracture healing. Furthermore, two 4.9 mm locking screws can be inserted proximally to fix diaphyseal fractures.
If no screws are needed in the femoral head, and the diaphyseal fracture is overly proximal, a 4.9 mm locking screw can be inserted, pointing from the greater trochanter to the area under the femoral neck.
Locking with the four screws on the distal end allows the treatment of fractures of the distal metaphysis.
Both stainless steel and titanium alloy material options are available.
